Frequently Asked Question
A common ITVDesk integration starts with a desktop or workstation screen. In ITVDesk, create a new virtual camera profile, select a media source such as Computer Screen Live / Desktop Capture, test the stream, and then add it to VIVOTEK VAST2 as an ONVIF camera or direct RTSP/RTSPS stream source.
This is useful when you need to record operator screens, POS workstations, control-room desktops, applications, dashboards or other computer activity inside the same VMS/NVR environment used for physical cameras.

Recommended VIVOTEK VAST2 setup
- Start the ITVDesk virtual IP camera and confirm it is running.
- In ITVDesk, note the computer IP address, ONVIF port, RTSP/RTSPS port and configured username/password.
- In VAST2, add a new camera/device using the ONVIF workflow or manual IP camera setup.
- Use the ITVDesk computer IP address and ONVIF port shown in ITVDesk.
- Enter the ITVDesk ONVIF username and password if authentication is enabled.
- Select the required stream profile and assign the camera to the correct recording/live-view group.
Verify in VAST2
- Open live view and confirm the ITVDesk desktop stream is visible.
- Check recording and playback if recording is enabled in VAST2.
- Confirm the selected resolution, codec and frame rate match the project requirements.
- If using secure streaming, verify that the required HTTPS/RTSPS ports are reachable from the VAST2 server.
Troubleshooting
- If VAST2 does not detect ITVDesk, check the ITVDesk ONVIF port, Windows/Linux firewall, IP address and network segment.
- If the camera is detected but video does not play, verify RTSP/RTSPS port access and codec support.
- If authentication fails, confirm the configured ITVDesk username/password and then re-enable the required security level.
- VAST2 menus and wording may differ by version, so use the video and steps as a practical guide rather than a fixed screen-by-screen rule.
