2. c) macOS Installation
Last Updated about a month ago
This guide explains the recommended installation flow for ITVDesk on macOS. Feature availability can depend on the ITVDesk macOS build, macOS version, Apple security permissions, and the VMS/NVR integration mode.
1. Download ITVDesk for macOS
- Download the macOS package from the official ITVDesk download page.
- Use the current build unless ITVDesk Support has provided a specific version for your environment.
2. Install ITVDesk
- Open the downloaded package.
- Drag ITVDesk.app into the Applications folder.
- Start ITVDesk from Applications.
- If macOS security prompts appear, allow ITVDesk according to your organization policy.
3. Allow required macOS permissions
- Screen Recording: required for desktop or application capture.
- Camera: required when using webcam capture.
- Microphone: required when audio capture or audio mixing is used.
- Local Network / Firewall: required for ONVIF, RTSP/RTSPS, HTTPS, SRT, and VMS/NVR discovery or streaming.
After changing macOS privacy permissions, restart ITVDesk so the operating system applies the new permissions.
4. Activate ITVDesk
- Trial: start a trial when internet access is available.
- Serial-key activation: enter the purchased subscription or perpetual serial key.
- Offline activation: export a request file, generate the license in the Customer Portal, and import the signed license file.
5. Connect to VMS/NVR
- Add ITVDesk as an ONVIF-compatible virtual IP camera where supported.
- Use RTSP/RTSPS/SRT stream output where your VMS/NVR supports those protocols.
- Test resolution, frame rate, codec, audio, and secure streaming before production use.
