Last Updated about a month ago
This guide explains the recommended installation flow for ITVDesk on Windows workstations and Windows Server environments.
1. Download ITVDesk
- Download the latest ITVDesk installer from the official ITVDesk download page.
- Use the current production installer unless ITVDesk Support has provided a specific build for your environment.
2. Install the application
- Run the installer on the target Windows computer.
- For production systems, install ITVDesk using an administrator account.
- If Windows asks for network or firewall permissions, allow ITVDesk on the network profiles required by your VMS/NVR environment.
- Install the latest supported Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package if Windows reports that runtime components are missing.
3. Activate ITVDesk
- Trial: start a trial directly from the application when internet access is available.
- Serial-key activation: enter the serial number purchased from the Customer Portal.
- Offline activation: export an offline request file from ITVDesk, generate the license in the Customer Portal, and import the signed license file into the application.
4. Configure video sources
- Select the source you want to expose as a virtual IP camera, such as desktop screen, application window, webcam, media source, RTSP/SRT source, or a combined layout.
- Configure codec, resolution, frame rate, audio, OSD/subtitles, and secure transport options according to your VMS/NVR requirements.
- For high-performance installations, test GPU_ZERO or optimized CPU encoding on the target machine.
5. Add ITVDesk to your VMS/NVR
- Add ITVDesk as an ONVIF-compatible IP camera in your VMS/NVR.
- Alternatively, use RTSP/RTSPS/SRT stream URLs where your system supports them.
- Test live view, recording, audio, PTZ desktop interaction, events, and secure streaming before production use.
